The Shivarathri Brahmotsava is started with the Dwajarohanam on the first Pournami before Shivarathri festival.Rudrabhishekam to Sri Angala Parameshwari will be performed froom the Dwajarohanam day till Shivarathri.Interested Devotees can take part in the Rudrabhishekam.Learn More

The important events starts one the preceeding day of Shivarathri,
firstly kankana is tied to devotees who will take part in Agni Seva(which will be held on next day of Shivarathri), followed by Halinakoda,.i.e, milk abhishekam is performed to Sri Angala parameshwari.The same day,in the evening Raja Bhojanam is served to Amma ,which consists of 48 varieties of Food. After the Raja Bhojanam, Procession/Utsava starts, where Amma is taken around the streets and devotees seek blessings from Amma.

On Shivarathri, Rudrabhishekam is performed in the morning and around 5.30 in the evening Ganga Pooja is performed followed by Karaga Procession. Amma in karga Alankara blesses all devotees, During procession Aarti and Pooja is performed to Amma by the Devotees. It is a wonderful sight to watch the karga procession, devotees feel overjoyed as Amma come to their Door steps during karaga procession. The next day, after Shivaratri, Rudrabhishekam is performed to Amma followed by Agni Pooja around 1 PM. Prasada Viniyoga and Anadanna will be carried out on all important days during the festival.

Around 7.30 in the evening Kali amma with its feirce form comes out the temple and makes its way to the Rudrabhoomi, In the Rudrabhoomi 31ft feet Mahishasura idol is made and Prana Pratishte is done to Mahishasura. Kali amma will do Mahishasura samhara in Rudrabhoomi. After the samhara of Mahishasura, Kali amma , Karga and the devotees perform the Agni Seva. The next Day after Agni seva, Rudrabhishekam is performed to amma folllowed by vasanthosavam and Anna Dana.
